Public Policy and Regulation Intern

About the Position

Holland & Knight's Public Policy & Regulation Group is a strong bipartisan team with deep ties throughout Washington, D.C. We have built a thriving government affairs practice through our depth of experience and diversity – and by maintaining our bipartisan approach.

Holland & Knight's Public Policy and Regulation Group is searching for intern candidates with a strong interest in the field of federal government relations and public policy. During their time at Holland & Knight, interns can expect to conduct substantive issue research, attend congressional and executive branch agency hearings, draft memorandums, prepare white papers and presentations for client meetings and provide general administrative support. Student interns will participate in regular meetings with firm's senior personnel to discuss their practices, backgrounds and experiences.

Strong analytical and critical thinking ability, as well as a keen attention to detail and strong writing skills are essential requirements. An applied understanding of executive and legislative branch processes will also be valuable to the intern experience. Please note that this internship opportunity is only open to current students in good standing.

 

Schedule

We structure our internship program around the academic semester/summer schedule. Generally, interns work between 15-30 hours per week. Note that start dates and work schedule can be flexible to accommodate your class schedule. Please include any limitations on hours/week or known availability for start and end dates in your cover letter.

We are currently accepting applications for the spring 2018 program. The internship program will run approximately from January 8 – May 18, 2018.
