Internal Auditor

ELS has an open position for an Internal Auditor to work from our corporate offices in Chicago. If you are good with numbers, enjoy analyzing data and would enjoy travel throughout the U.S., this position offers a great opportunity to learn how different departments throughout the company operate. The Internal Auditor works with employees at all levels, including departmental management and senior executives.  Responsibilities include:

  • Performing Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance testing, on-site property audits, and other internal audits.
  • Strong writing skills and an innate intellectual curiosity.
  • Auditors must interact with process owners to understand flow of transactions, and have the ability to present information to diverse audiences.

 Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and test information related to SOX compliance and property audits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions from executives, management and property managers.
  • Math skills used to calculate figures and other analytical statistics.  
  • Ability to define problems relevant to audit procedures and needs: collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Above average ability to perform data entry into spreadsheets. Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills, time management, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally without proximity to supervisor.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% during specific times. Travel schedules are contingent upon audit needs.
  • Must possess a current driver’s license.
