Rotational Food Scientist

AmeriQual Group’s Rotational Food Science program is designed to introduce new Food Science / R&D talent into the organization through a two-year program.   The position will begin at the AmeriQual Foods location in Evansville, IN. After approximately 12 months, the position will rotate to a new assignment at our ThermoPac facility in Stone Mountain, GA.   This rotation is designed to help participants build a background in product development, new product launches, and existing product reformulation.   Rotational food scientists will also meet and network with amazing team members across the organization, as well as industry experts and our diverse customers.

 

Duties and responsibilities

Rotational Food Scientists will perform assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and experience.   Projects will vary by assignment but will require the application of food science theory, standard techniques, procedures and criteria consistent with entry-level food scientists.   Skills developed will include not only technical skills, but also leadership, teamwork, and cross-functional competency.   Food Scientists will interact with all levels of the organization, from machine operators to executive management.  

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • B.S. in Food Science or related field
  • Intern experience in manufacturing setting strongly preferred
  • Positive attitude, with hands-on, can-do approach
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated dependability
  • Excellent communication and computer skills, including industry software, word processing and spread sheet applications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and anticipate changing project needs.
  • ​ Flexibility to relocate during initial two-year Rotational program assignments (relocation assistance is available)

 

 

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate tools and standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.   Position will also frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required.
