Landscape Architecture Professional Internship: Fall 2018

 We Are...

Walt Disney World Architecture & Facilities Engineering division provides strategic and project support for Walt Disney World facilities. We are responsible for the design of this portfolio of projects for Walt Disney World parks, resorts, water parks, roadways and back-of-house facilities. Each group provides discipline specific support through innovative design solutions and permit assistance on single and multi-discipline projects.

As a member of the Landscape Architecture team at Walt Disney World, your team's responsibilities will include: Landscape, Irrigation and Area Development (AD) design, specifically. AD includes themed paving, railings, and site furnishings. Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its application to the outdoor environment is important. In addition to the list of projects noted above, landscape architectural support of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is included. This can encompass design as well as installation support. In addition to working with the Architecture & Facilities Engineering design teams, there is a close working relationship with Disney’s Horticulture team. Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Research of existing conditions/documentation and data collection
  • Conceptual design through bid & construct document preparation
  • Field observations during construction
Basic Qualifications :
What You Bring to the Role:
  • Cumulative overall GPA of 3.0 or higher (Note: No rounding.)
  • Proficient with AutoCad
  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (esp. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements
Preferred Qualifications :
Required Education :
  • Landscape Architecture major
  • Junior, Senior or Graduate student status by arrival date
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4 year college or university
