Business Development Manager- West (291635-836)

Unimin is looking for a dynamic business development manager who will have a positive impact on the industrial sales team. In this role, you will manage the selling activities in a defined geography including customer contact, pricing and shipping information for our products.

Other duties include:
* Meet with ship-to and bill-to accounts on a regular basis (both personal and phone visits), meeting with upper management to discuss sales trends, sales volume by product, and quality and production issues.
* Assist and participate in customer training of sales, marketing, and customer service personnel on existing products and with the introduction of new products and programs.
* Assist customers in planning and presenting specific product meetings as required to assist in business growth and development.
* Conduct live presentations and seminars using PowerPoint, webinars and other communication tools.
* Implement corporate programs and product introductions and meet sampling and sales objectives set by senior management (such as product implementation/expansion, program conversions, etc.).
* Act as the point person for all questions and requests asked of the Product, Marketing, and Customer Service divisions, communicate the facts and respond in a timely fashion.
* Follow up with the Product Manager and R & D Manager on all quality and manufacturing related issues until resolved.
* Help customer provide accurate forecasting, by product, to the proper business unit to improve operational controls at all levels.
* Present Unimin products (technical specifications, certifications, etc.) to other building-related groups via in-person meetings, presentations, seminars, webinars and other communication methods.
* Assist customers in presenting and specifying Unimin products to specific commercial projects as required to assist in business growth and development; joint calls, project meetings, etc
* Work to attain Unimin as the Basis of Design (BOD) in Commercial Specification and have listed in specifications
* Provide commercial project leads and follow projects all the way through install to provide a down-stream resource
* Help develop training material as needed for the building environment community
* Provide project tracking support and maintain working documents, contacts and on-time follow up
* Work with fabricator to provide a rolling forecast, by product, to the appropriate Product Manager to assist product planning and ultimately improve service for the fabricators.
* Provide the Product Manager with accurate year-to-date and year-end forecasts to assist with Purchasing.
* Assist in development of sampling quotas, by product, to best reflect actual fabricator needs and guarantee proper area coverage.
* Represent Unimin in an effort to gather useful information direct from the fabricator to share with the Product, R & D, and Marketing teams for evaluation of existing products and programs and new products and programs.
* Information to be collected should include all issues relating to Unimin’s products, merchandising and programs along with competitive information.
* Coordinate implementation of specific area promotions through the fabricators.
* Participate in regional sales blitzes, nationally, as directed by the Director of Sales.
* Gather information to assist Marketing’s assessment of the competition and their products

Required Experience:
* Minimum of five years progressive experience in sales in a commercial building industry.
* Preferred 7 years experience in sales and business development in building industry.
* Four years college degree with a focus in business, sales, or engineering
