Required Education
Must be enrolled full-time at UK for the Fall 2018 semester and in good academic standing. This status must be maintained for the duration of employment with the College of Business and Economics.
Required Related Experience
Knowledge of marketing principles, skills in writing/editing and familiarity with social media platforms

Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods. Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods.
Shift
Shifts will be scheduled for weekdays between 8 AM – 5 PM. Occasional early evenings may be required.
Shifts must be a minimum of 2 hours long each and can be scheduled around classes.
Job Summary
The marketing/writing assistant will work with the college’s marketing team, particularly the Content Manager, to create marketing materials, cover events for web, publications and social media, complete research on prominent college constituents for profiles, and provide support for college events.
Project-related job duties may include researching, writing, photographing and/or recording content for Gatton print and digital publications; interviewing students and attending and covering college and student organization programs; and complete light office work and assist staff with workshops, resource fairs, and other outreach or public events.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
*Written and oral communications, editing and proofreading skills
*Familiarity with online social media and media distribution sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and/or Vimeo
*Competency with both Macintosh and Windows operating systems
*Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
*Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
*Proactive, motivated, and communicative attitude towards work-related activities

• Experience in writing and research
• Excellent speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills
