The Missoula Rural Fire District is accepting applications from qualified applicants who are interested in an opening for Information Technology Technician.  The position is salaried, (exempt) 40 hours per week, under the general direction of the Fire Chief or his/her designee.  The Information Technology Technician will administer the operations of the Information Technology department of the Missoula Rural Fire District. The Information Technology Technician is expected to exercise a high degree of skill in organization and time-management practices; diagnostics and problem solving; with attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication. The Information Technology Technician is responsible for supporting network databases and systems, updating system hardware and software, troubleshooting for system errors, and assisting team members in supporting all data security and optimization. This includes installing and maintaining computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. The ITT will also “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability. The employee may be required to perform other duties assigned as they relate to the District’s mission. 

Minimum Qualifications

Five years minimum work experience in an information technology role with experience working with network and server management support required. A high school degree or equivalent is required. A valid driver’s license is required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred. Industry certification (MCSE), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+ certification, or other related IT professional certifications are preferred.
