Olympus Packaging Engineering Intern, Summer 2018 - Brookyln Park, Minnesota

Job Description

Brooklyn Park, MN - The Olympus Internship Program is a 13 week experience designed for college or graduate students to further their education and development goals by undertaking meaningful projects and assignments within Olympus. The program features core curriculum sessions, focused projects to advanced business needs, and observation, job shadowing and networking to expand interns’ professional horizons.

We are seeking Engineering Interns who will assist the Engineering teams.  The intern will be a member of multi-disciplinary team working on a variety of projects and assignments.

Relocation assistance and the opportunity to work remotely are not available for this position. This is a short-term position that will run for approximately 13 weeks.

* Summer session will run from mid-May through mid-August of 2018.
* Review and placement of interns will begin immediately.

Job Duties:

* Work with teams to support packaging remediation matrix and remediation activities across the multiple surgical manufacturing sites.

* Work closely with R&D and Process Development in support of NPD activities.

* Assist with packaging testing.

* Work with cross-functional teams on daily production support activities.

* May assist with implementing updates to our packaging policy through the leadership of a senior engineer.

* Perform all other essential duties as assigned.
 

Job Requirements:

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

* Must be a college student pursuing an engineering degree or similar.

* Must have completed sophomore year status of a Bachelor's Degree at an accredited 4-year college and/or be currently enrolled in a full time graduate school program, graduating after September 2018.

* Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher is required.

* Experience with CAD/CAM systems is desired.

* Experience in mechanical dimensioning and developments of drawing packages is preferred.

* Strong analytical and organizational skills are necessary.

* Must have the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic and deadline driven environment.

* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize/execute multiple concurrent tasks is desired.

* Strong interpersonal skills are required.

* Strong attention to detail is required.

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must.
