Summary
This is a three-year,
Career Development program for entry level Budget Analyst designed to prepare
selectees for full professional performance.
MissionStatement
The Missile Defense Agency develops and fields an integrated Ballistic Missile
Defense System (BMDS) capable of providing a layered defense for the homeland,
deployed forces, friends, and allies against ballistic missiles of all ranges
in all phases of flight. At the Missile Defense Agency you will have a rare

This dynamic three-year formal training program includes rotational assignments
which will enable you to; work on various aspects of the programs in the
Operations Directorate; attend classroom and web-based training; participate in
formal mentoring; and be a part of cohort experiences with other developmental
program participants. There will be annual promotion opportunities based upon
meeting time-in-grade requirements, successful performance, successful
completion of required training, and supervisory approval. This is your

Responsibilities
As a BUDGET ANALYST you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist various budget and other operations personnel with budget and programmatic analysis and program execution for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).
- Assist with the collecting, assembling and working with project officers in support of the review and analysis of data for validity, reliability, currency and accuracy to be used in earned value management.
- Assist in the development, processing, and approval of Requests for Information, questions for the Record and Reports to other government entities related to MDA programs.
- Reconcile
discrepancies when necessary. Perform financial assessments in support of
program or
agency operations. - Prepare graphs and charts to show trends in spending.
- Assemble budget exhibits and compile and consolidate estimates for salaries and expenses.
- Perform other duties as assigned
These duties above are at
the full performance GS-11 level. During your training program, duties will be
performed with a higher level of supervision and support.
THE STARTING SALARY FOR THIS POSITION: These positions will be filled at the
GS-07 and/or the GS-09 level. The starting pay will be at the step 1 of the
applicable locality table and is non-negotiable. Please indicate the grade for
which you want to be considered. You will only be considered for the grade(s)
you select and for which you meet minimum requirements. Incumbent will serve in
the Career Development Program for 3 years. If you are approved for promotion
to the GS-11 level, this position will be converted to an NH-II under the
Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration
Project (AcqDemo).
