Interpretive Ecology Guides and Zipline Guides in San Juan Mountains of Colorado

Are you physically fit, safety conscious, comfortable working with ropes and heights, and do you have an outgoing and personable disposition? If so, you may just have what it takes to work at Soaring Treetop Adventures, the world’s largest zip line course, rated #1 on TripAdvisor.com!   Seeking applicants for Zip Line Tour Guides (Sky Rangers) and Ecology Interpretive Guides (Eco Rangers) for the upcoming summer season.

Employment dates:

June 1 – mid-August (peak season - great for students)
or June 1 – mid-October (full season)

Duties include, but are not limited to, guiding guests through the treetop canopy tour on the largest and safest zip line course in the U.S., focusing on guest safety as our first priority. Candidates must maintain a clean and professional appearance, actively engage guests in conversation throughout the day and provide a safe and unforgettable experience high up in the Ponderosa forest.  Requirements include the ability to lift small children on/off the zip line cables, frequently climb via ascenders up 60’ of rope, and feel comfortable in such environments. Familiarity with climbing gear a plus. Basic First Aid/CPR certification required.

Eco Rangers are also responsible for educating guests about the natural history of our property within an old growth forest in the San Juan Mountains.  We want guests to understand the importance of protecting the environment for future generations and to illustrate the simple tasks we perform to help promote a clean environment.  You’ll spend time researching and obtaining program information to help actively engage guests throughout the zip line course. For Eco Guides, a background in the fields of Natural Resources and Interpretation, Environmental Science, Outdoor Recreation, Biology, Botany, Ecology, or any other sciences preferred.

Sky Rangers are responsible for safely leading large groups of guests through the zip line course. The job is physically challenging, so you need to be very physically fit, and it requires 100% attention to safety, so you need to be detail-oriented. Sky Rangers are also responsible for daily course inspections, harness inspections, and course and equipment maintenance.

All guides need to be comfortable with public speaking, heights, standing for long hours, and be physically fit.
