Global Technology and Infrastructure, Project Management Office Intern

Chemonics seeks an intern to support its Global Technology and Infrastructure Unit’s Project Management Office. The intern will contribute to technical, new business, and project management tasks and participate in professional development activities to prepare for a career in international development. This is a unique opportunity to learn from staff across the company and gain an understanding of Chemonics’ work. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:
  • Help plan and implement strategic, corporate technology, and infrastructure initiatives related to project management, organizational change, and continuous improvement
  • Research and identify potential new projects related to technology and infrastructure to improve company performance
  • Support rollout and provide ongoing support to field-office and home-office projects in the areas of performance monitoring, outcomes, and compliance
  • Manage short-term projects to support Global Technology and Infrastructure projects and operations initiatives
  • Provide administrative support for project meetings
  • Monitor project deliverables and ensure milestones are met by applying project management strategies
  • Track and analyze project data trends and share findings with the team
  • Attend project management training to learn about Global Technology Infrastructure teams and other key aspects of project management and implementation
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate (rising junior or senior) or graduate degree, preferably related to international development, project management, or business management
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Experience with any project management tools preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in Visio preferred
  • Basic understanding of project management principles and terminologies
  • Experience with any project management tools preferred
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently on projects and tasks
  • Demonstrated interest in international development
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Additional language skills preferred
