Human Resources Intern - Summer 2018

Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation’s largest and most well-known financial planning firms, is seeking a Human Resources Intern for our Fairfax, VA location.

This position will provide assistance in all areas of Human Resources (Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, Internal Communications, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards) and day-to-day functions. You will have an opportunity to participate in various projects allowing you to strengthen your strategic, organizational, and team building skills.

Responsibilities:

• Organizing and maintaining employee files
• Scanning and filing employee documents
• Handling miscellaneous items from outside vendors, such as ordering flowers, food, sports tickets, theater tickets, etc.
• Working as a liaison to the events planning team to coordinate necessary efforts for corporate events
• Supporting training initiatives by reviewing PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, preparing for training classes, etc.
• Assisting HR staff with various research and/or special projects
• Providing recruiting assistance with candidate coordination, resume reviewing, sourcing, etc.
• Performing other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements:

• Open to current college students in their Junior or Senior year or up to 1 year after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Desire to learn about Human Resources and/or the financial services industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Position requires high level of responsibility regarding confidential information; must maintain confidentiality at all times
