Evansville is the 3rd largest city in Indiana and lies within a 200-mile radius of four major metropolitan cities including Indianapolis, Nashville, Louisville and St. Louis.
What you will be doing
- Full-time paid internship from approximately May 2018 to August 2018
- Experience the real work of Human Resources and develop a broad spectrum of skills, while gaining a better understanding of the Gas and Electric Utility industry, as well as Vectren Culture
- As an intern, you will be mentored by subject matter experts offering you a valuable opportunity to gain an understanding of the employee lifecycle through a variety of projects and tasks that will provide you exposure to current issues facing Vectren’ s Corporate HR Department and/or operating business groups
- These internships will support the diversity, inclusion and human equity and recruiting team as well as the HR operations team (business partners, compliance, employee services and HR systems) based on your skills and the team’s activities

Qualifications
What you bring
- Current student (heading into third or fourth year) pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human resource related field
- High degree of confidentiality and the ability to work independently
- Great attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of other Microsoft Office tools and ability to learn HRIS
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain high academic standards with their education institution
