YMCA Child Watch Coordinator

That's right. We are in need of the ultimate mentor to oversee the Child Watch program at our YMCA facilities. The Child Watch Coordinator assumes the responsibility for hiring, training, and managing staff, ensures supervision of children, adheres to policies, and develops a sense of trust with members. The Arapahoe position will also oversee "Kids Club" and "Gym Ventures."

But first, what the heck is Child Watch? It's a program located in our YMCAs that provides members with childcare while they work out, take classes, or swim. The children play inside and outside, do craft projects, enjoy games and sports, and more.

So tell us: Are you the very model of a modern reliable role model? You might be the right candidate if...

You are engaged, energetic, and enthusiastic. You have a proven knack for balancing safety and fun -- ready to ensure Child Watch is both parent-pleasing and mind-blowingly enjoyable for kids. You genuinely love being around children, making a positive difference in their lives, and helping them grow, thrive, and celebrate their awesome selves.

You are a boss. You have experience creating a work environment that fosters positivity, creativity, teamwork, and hard work. You are comfortable with -- nay, you love -- implementing policies, scheduling and doing work that some may consider dull...but you certainly would not! As a manager, you are detail oriented and proactive; you notice the fingerprints on the windows and you get them wiped away before others sees them.

You are a problem-solver and a communicator: You can have a serious conversation with a 2-year-old about sharing, tell jokes with a 8-year-old, and talk teething with a parent all within a five minute period.

Lastly, you are ready to leave your mark on Child Watch. Whether it's adding theme days, developing a curriculum, or creating new activities, you are ready to develop an identity for your program, ensuring it serves the unique wants and needs of your community.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must have CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Must have experience working with children in formal group situations and staff/volunteer supervision.

Must have ability and maturity to communicate with others in an open and professional manner.

College level courses in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Recreation or related field is preferred.

For consideration please complete our on line application and email your current resume and letter of interest to Jessica.clay@ymcabv.org. Application review begins 4/30.
