United Launch Alliance is hiring a System Engineer to
join our team! The System Engineer will operate out of our Centennial, CO
offices. The ideal System Engineer candidate will be able to operate in a
collaborative setting where they will work with a variety of teams where
communication is key to success.

The System Engineer will perform as part of a multi-disciplinary team to
establish and execute ULA Systems Engineering and Integration activities. The
engineer will lead efforts to produce, analyze and document the design,
integration and interface requirements for a launch vehicle system/sub-system.
This position is responsible for the consistent application of systems
engineering tools and processes to support ULA product development
projects/programs.
The position also has a key role in continuous improvement of these same tools
and processes. The position will perform system and subsystem integration
ensuring that product development projects are fully integrated into the ULA
launch systems. This position must work with and lead multi-disciplined project
teams to evaluate and allocate customer/operational needs and develop system
requirements. Supports all systems engineering activities including; a)
requirements development and analysis, b) proposal support, c) risk, issue, and
opportunity management, d) team and program execution planning, e) trade study
development and management, f) TPM development and tracking, and g)
requirements verification activities. Responsible for applying appropriate
scaling of systems engineering activities commensurate with the specific
project needs.
This position requires knowledge of Systems Engineering and Integration
processes and tools. Experience performing system integration is highly
desired. Knowledge of the existing and evolving launch system requirements and
analysis/ design integration is desired.
This position requires the ability to perform tasks to meet critical
milestones, and the engineer shall be an accomplished presenter for a customer
audience, for PDR and CDR level briefings. The position requires the ability to
develop project schedules, and then execute to them.
This position requires excellent written and oral communication proficiency in
conjunction with organization skills necessary to maintain focus and achieve
consensus within diverse multi-disciplined teams. Experience working with cross
functional teams is desired. Internal and external customer interface
activities will require strong communication skills. The successful candidate
will be a self-starter able to work autonomously and perform in a collaborative
environment.
• Responsible for System Integration across projects within ULA
• Lead the multi-functional process of System Integration through a rigorous
Systems Engineering and Integration process
• Interface with customers and suppliers
• Implement and execute Systems Engineering and Integration processes
• Personally exemplify and promote integrity and ethical behavior.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, or material science
- 2 years of engineering and systems engineering experience or equivalent
- Experience working with existing and evolving launch systems requirements or Space Vehicle requirements
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams in the performance of requirements analysis, development, integration, and verification
- Experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point to include the integration of charts for large presentations to customers
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience developing, implementing, and tailoring systems engineering processes
- Experience developing, integrating, and verifying EELV or other Space Vehicle specifications and requirements
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Experience working with and leading cross functional teams
- Ability to operate independently and work as part of a team
- Ability to develop solutions to a wide range of difficult engineering problems with imaginative, thorough, and practical ideas consistent with program/project objectives
