Retail Services Summer 2018 Internship

AMC, Inc. is pleased to provide students the opportunity to participate in the AmericasMart Internship Program.  The Internship Program is designed for students to experience and manage "real-life business scenarios." The program's goal is to enhance student's business acumen and to increase their professional value in the marketplace after graduation.
 
The Retail Services Summer 2018 Internship starts May 29, 2018 until August 06, 2018 and is classified as paid.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Information
To be eligible for an AmericasMart Internship, applicants must:
  • Be an undergraduate (declared or undeclared) or      graduate student with a degree in Marketing, Customer Service, Retail,      Hospitality, Sales or Event Planning, Areas of Service, etc. Applicants      must be enrolled in a bachelors program. Students enrolled in certificate      programs are not eligible; the program in which the student is enrolled      must result in a degree awarded at the conclusion of studies.
  • For undergraduate and graduate students, have a minimum      3.0 overall grade point average with a 3.0 in your major as supported by      an unofficial transcript.
  • Have at least two substantive reference letters from a      professor, advisor, previous employer (for an internship or job) and/or      character reference.

Retail Services Internship Description:
Assisting with all campaigns for the World of Prom and VOW: New World of Bridal markets: contacting new and existing buyers/retailers prior to markets and market related projects (VIP programs and buying group event planning). Additional administrative duties including: filing, data entry, clerical duties, telemarketing.
 
Requirements
Students will be required to work all market shows with potential overtime during the duration of the internship.  Candidate should be an undergraduate (declared or undeclared) or graduate student with a degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or Merchandising. Retail experience or knowledge and understanding of the retail/wholesale industry are preferred. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills are mandatory. Candidate must possess computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
