DNA Laboratory Technician
This person will be working in a wet lab creating synthetic DNA and RNA.
· Operate synthesis, liquid handling, purification, and QC equipment.
· Pipette into tubes for pooling.
· Assume all responsibilities of Laboratory Technician I
· Work and communicate effectively with other team members.
· Be dependable and report for work on time.
· Maintain consistent quality and efficiency in all work processes.
· Understand and follow documents relevant to responsibilities, e.g., Work Instructions, Checklists, Batch Records, Logs.
· Maintain accurate production records in compliance with established Quality System standards.
· Ensure proper operation of automated equipment and apply adequate laboratory techniques
· Operate PC-based computer terminals for data entry and retrieval.
· Keep equipment and work environment clean and organized, and do general laboratory housekeeping.
· Strictly adhere to company health, safety and regulatory policies, including correct handling of Hazardous Materials and wearing proper PPE (personal protective equipment).
· Be prepared to work overtime on any shift or weekends if requested.
· Completes successfully all on-site training programs in a timely manner.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Proven ability to follow written and oral instructions.
· Ability to perform under pressure of a fast paced production environment.
· PC-based computer literacy.
· Proven ability to work well with a team with little supervision.
· Annual RCRA awareness training.
