CREW’s Plant Research Division is currently accepting applications for a 12-week summer internship, funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for the project: Establishing the Exceptional Plant Cryo Bank: Collaborative Research for Ex Situ Conservation of Endangered Exceptional Plants. This intern will assist the PI and a post-doctoral researcher in organizing and adding supplemental data to the Frozen Garden database of cryopreserved collections, researching and updating permits for the collection, and developing interpretive and educational materials for the website. 

Requirements: Undergraduate degree or degree in progress in biology or related field with experience with plants, a background with databases, and an interest in conservation. The successful applicant will also have good observational skills, a strong work ethic, familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), proficiency in English with good writing skills.

This position is for 40 hr/week for 12 weeks, with a pay rate of $10/hr. Starting date can be in May or early June, depending on applicant’s academic schedule.
